Man Killed in Victorville Motorcycle Accident

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - A 47-year-old man tragically died yesterday after he struck a van while riding his motorcycle in Victorville. According to The Press-Enterprise, the accident happened after 5 a.m. Monday when a 2003 Ford Windstar van made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist at the intersection of D and 2nd Street.

D and 2nd - Victorville.pngWitness reports stated the driver of the van, 32-year-old Casey Hunter of Adelanto, was stopped at 2nd Street, and then made a left turn onto D Street in front of the path of the 2005 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic traveling westbound lane of D Street.

The motorcyclist identified as Michael Johnson was reported to have died after being transported to Victor Valley Community Hospital. Victorville Police Department is investigating the May 7th crash to determine why this happened.

After the collision, the three boys - ages 6, 11, and 13 - were airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center with major injuries. The 42-year-old male driver of the Ford Focus immediately stopped following the accident and remained at the scene until authorities arrived.

The woman driving the BMW, who suffered only minor injuries, was reportedly under the influence and was arrested. The driver of the Buick and her front seat passenger suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to trauma centers. A male passenger and two toddlers in the back seat of the Buick suffered only minor injuries. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating the cause of the accident.

The tragic incident took the life of the motorcyclist as he was reported to have died at the scene. The man's name was not released until the next of kin is notified.

The teenage girl and the young child were hit by a car while they were attempting to cross 7th Street and Desert Knolls Drive in Victorville.

According to spokeswoman Karen Hunt of the Victorville station's Major Accident Investigation Team, the teenager and child were struck by a 62-year-old Moreno Valley man who did not see the girl pushing the boy in a stroller in the crosswalk when he made a left turn from Desert Knolls Drive onto 7th Street.

Following this tragic accident, the pedestrians were airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center. The teen suffered cuts and scrapes, while the boy sustained a fractured skull. They are currently in stable condition, and their relationship between the two has not been determined.

Man Arrested on Suspicion for Causing Hit-And-Run Victorville Car Accident on Highway 395

Luis Arroyo is believed to have been behind the wheel of a Dodge pickup going southbound on Highway 395 when he struck a 2001 Ford Explorer traveling northbound. According to police officials, Arroyo attempted to make a left turn in front of the Ford, however, he ended up hitting the SUV before fleeing the scene. The driver of the Ford, Latrina Leeshell Woodberry, 34, of Victorville, lost control of her vehicle after the impact, which then caused her to slam into a telephone pole.

Following this horrific collision, Woodberry, and her daughter, Lauren Rideau, 11, of Victorville, were reported to have died at the scene. Woodberry's 8-year-old son was also in the vehicle and was airlifted to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The victim, Brittany Michele Davis, was driving a 1998 red Chevy Cavalier westbound on Bear Valley Road near Seventh Avenue when two vehicles travelling eastbound on Bear Valley Road collided. One of the vehicles, a Nissan Titan pickup truck struck the center median and rolled into westbound traffic where it struck Davis's car. The driver of the vehicle that collided with the Nissan, possibly a white Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon, fled the scene. Anyone with information regarding the driver of the white SUV involved in the crash is urged to call the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Hesperia Sheriff's Station at (760) 947-1525 or the WeTip hotline at 800-78-Crime.

The July 15th crash occurred at about 7 a.m. near Bear Valley Road. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, a northbound Hyundai Sonata and a southbound Kia Sportage, sheriff's officials said. According to news reports, the driver of the Hyundai Sonata, a 27-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man, apparently fell asleep while driving. His northbound vehicle crossed into southbound lanes and collided head-on with the Kia Sportage, driven by a 31-year-old Adelanto woman.

The driver of the Hyundai suffered only minor injuries and was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The woman driving the Kia suffered multiple bone fractures to her lower extremities and was taken to Desert Valley Medical Center.

Cause of the Crash

The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the head-on collision.
