Motorcyclist Killed in Hesperia Crash

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - A 25-year-old man was tragically killed in a motorcycle crash that occurred at about 4:22 p.m. Friday in Hesperia, San Bernardino County Sun reported. The motorcyclist, Kevin E. Medina of Hesperia, was thrown off his 2012 Ducati motorcycle after he was struck by a 1998 Toyota Camry that veered into his path on Hesperia Road. Following the accident, Medina suffered serious injuries and was reported to have died at the Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville.

Cause of the Hesperia Motorcycle Crash

It is not immediately clear what caused the driver of the Toyota to veer into the path of the motorcyclist. However, if police officials investigating the accident indicated factors such as negligence, unsafe or distracted driving - such as through the use of cellphone, eating, and changing/operating the radio - contributed to the crash, the driver can be held financially liable for the death of the victim. Hopefully, authorities can come to a conclusion as to what happened and who is officially responsible.

Seven Seriously Injured in Hesperia Car Crash

main street in hesperia.pngSAN BERNARDINO COUNTY -- A Hesperia car crash involving three vehicles left seven people seriously injured, Victorville Daily Press reports. An SUV hauling roughly 4,000 pounds of scrap metal in its flat-bed trailer, was traveling eastbound on Main Street near Pyrite Road when a tire from the trailer blew causing the SUV to veer onto westbound traffic and then colliding head-on with a Toyota Matrix. A third vehicle was also involved when a pick-up truck struck the SUV's trailer. According to Sgt. Linzy Savage of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Hesperia station, the collision occurred a little after 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Following this terrible accident, a total of seven people were injured. Three out of the seven people were flown to a nearby trauma center, while the other four were transported via ambulance to local hospitals. The identities of the individuals involved in this collision were not immediately available.

Cause of the Car Crash in Hesperia

The accident on September 26th remains under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. However, based on the information provided by the Victorville Daily Press, it is unclear why the tire blew on the SUV's flatbed trailer. Therefore, police officials will try to determine if the crash was due to a variety of factors, which include and are not limited to the speed of the vehicle, whether or not the tire was defective, or other vehicle malfunctions.

Two Killed, Two Injured January 17th in Ford Bronco Rollover Crash in Hesperia

A crash early Sunday morning in San Bernardino County killed two people and injured two others, authorities reported. The accident took place on I Avenue in Hesperia, near Alston Street, at around 2:23 a.m. According to the Victorville Daily Press, Amber Siegrest, 22, of Hesperia, was driving her 1991 Ford Bronco south on I Street when for unknown reasons, she drove onto the east shoulder. The Bronco overturned three to four times. One of the backseat passengers, a 22-year-old Victorville man, passed away at the scene of the crash. A second passenger, a 24-year-old Apple Valley man, was taken to Desert Valley Hospital shortly before 4 a.m., before he could be flown to a trauma center.

The San Bernardino County Coroner identified the victims Monday as Anthony Kaminski of Victorville, and Truman Switzer of Apple Valley. Please keep the families of these young men in your prayers. Our condolences go out to everyone who know and loved them.

As of Monday, the driver was still hospitalized. The front seat passenger, a 31-year-old Oak Hills man, suffered less serious injuries. He was take to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and was treated and released. The cause of this double fatal January 17 accident remains under investigation. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Region II Major Accident Investigation Team is the agency investigating the incident.
