Two Killed in Fontana Head-On Collision

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - Based on a press release provided by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department, a terrible head-on collision involving a 2005 Honda Accord and a 1989 Toyota Corolla killed both drivers yesterday morning in Fontana.

The Wednesday accident occurred at 1:58 a.m., when the Honda traveling west on Foothill Boulevard, west of Almeria Avenue, veered onto the eastbound lane, slamming head-on with the Toyota. The Toyota driver, 42-year-old Fontana resident Rhonda Martinson, was reported to have died at the scene, and the driver the Honda, Anthony Allen, 20, of Corona, was taken to Loma Linda Medical Center, where he later died due to his injuries.

The tragic accident occurred before 5 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Almond Avenue and Arrow Route. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department, the driver of a 2000 Honda Accord turned left from a stop sign on south Almond Avenue and into the path the motorcyclist that was traveling west on Arrow. The motorcyclist, Sergio Moral-Perez of Fontana, was reported to have died at scene of the accident. No information if the Honda driver, 20-year-old Arnold Pereira of Fontana, was cited or arrested.

Man Killed in Fontana Pedestrian Accident

16300 block of Foothill Blvd - Fontana.pngSAN BERNARDINO COUNTY -- According to The Press-Enterprise, a 70-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car while he was crossing a street in Fontana. Roy Rasmussen, of Fontana, was attempting to cross the 16300 of Foothill Boulevard at about 10:54 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a Nissan Sentra traveling on the westbound lanes.

Following the horrific accident, the driver of the vehicle stopped and is cooperating with police, while Rasmussen was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:52 a.m. Sunday.

Man Killed in Fontana Pedestrian Accident

The Press-Enterprise reported that Domingo Nava was attempting to cross the street at Sierra Avenue and Reed Street, when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. After the collision, Nava was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana where he later died at 7:22 p.m. due to his major injuries.

Four Tragically Killed in Fontana Car Accident

The accident was reported at about 1:08 a.m. Sunday, when the driver of a Chrysler Sebring was traveling east on Foothill Boulevard and lost control of the vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the car to burst into flames.

Following the accident, the driver, Javier Contreras, 18, and a female passenger, Rebecca Garcia, 16, were reported to have died at the scene. Two other passengers, Pedro Rivera, 18, and Raquel Garcia, 18, were taken to a Fontana Kaiser hospital and a Colton Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, respectively. However, Pedro Rivera and Rebecca Garcia later died due their injuries.

Woman Seriously Injured in Fontana Car Accident

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY -- A woman sustained serious injuries after she was involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Fontana at about 3:46 p.m. Monday, Fontana Herald News reports. The woman, who was a passenger in a 2004 Honda Accord, was traveling south on Sierra Avenue near Foothill Boulevard when their vehicle broadsided a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. According to Fontana Police Sergeant Billy Green, the Tacoma pulled in front of the Honda as it was leaving a shopping center.

Following this terrible accident, the female passenger in the Honda Accord suffered severe injuries to her head and neck and was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The names and ages of the individuals involved in this collision were not immediately available.

The accident was reported at the intersection of Alder Avenue and Miller Avenue at 7:28 a.m. on March 28, 2011. The girl, Destiny Hernandez, was ejected from the vehicle she was riding in, the Press-Enterprise reported. News accounts of the incident provided very little details of the incident. It is unclear why the collision occurred, how many vehicles were involved, or who was at fault.

The accident was reported at 7:22 a.m. in the area of Duncan Canyon and Serrano, at 7:22 a.m., according to police. The teenager, who was not identified, was struck by a 1998 Chevrolet driven by a 66-year-old woman, who was not identified.
