The man, whose name was not released, was struck by a blue 2006 Toyota Highlander.

The bicyclist, Vernon Slade, 74, of Moreno Valley, was riding along the 13100 block of Heacock Street at about 3:27 a.m. when he was hit by a Dodge Ram pickup traveling north on Heacock. Following this devastating collision, Slade was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center where he later died due to his injuries.

Several Injured Wednesday Afternoon in Reche Canyon Road Head-on Crash

RIVERSIDE COUNTY - Reche Canyon Road was shut down from Moreno Valley to Colton following a head-on collision Wednesday evening, the Southwest Riverside News Network reported. The April 20th Riverside car accident was reported on Reche Canyon Road near Arroyo Drive around 5:30 p.m., and involved a gray Honda and a green Toyota Camry. According to news reports, several people were injured in the crash, but the extent of the victims' injuries was not clear. It was also not clear who was responsible for the injury accident. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.

Patient Killed in Moreno Valley Car vs. Ambulance Crash

ironwood-pigeon.jpgMORENO VALLEY - A patient in an ambulance died Wednesday following a horrendous Riverside County car vs. ambulance crash that left five people injured, including two American Medical Response paramedics and two Cal Fire firefighters. The accident was reported shortly before 10:45 p.m., at the intersection of Ironwood Avenue and Pigeon Pass Road in Moreno Valley. The victim, a 47-year-old Moreno Valley woman, died at the scene of the crash. Along with the four responders, the driver of the car was also injured. The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified the ambulance patient victim as Ann B. Layton.

This accident raises a number of questions, as the news reports in the Press-Enterprise provide only limited details of what happened. It is not clear if the ambulance had sirens activated, or how fast the vehicles were going when they collided. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

Motorcyclist Struck and Killed in Crash on Moreno Valley Freeway

moreno-valley-freeway.jpgA 59-year-old Moreno Valley man tragically died Saturday after a woman driving a sedan allegedly cut off his Harley-Davidson, throwing him off his bike. The fatal Riverside County motorcycle accident happened Saturday, August 28, 2010, at about 12:45 p.m. on westbound State Route 60, about 500 feet east of Day Street in Moreno Valley. The Desert Sun reported the driver of a 1999 Daewoo Leganza, Stephanie Clation, 38, was travelling in the fast lane and the motorcyclist, Albert Jackson Welch, 59, was travelling in the carpool lane. When traffic started to slow, Clation allegedly swerved into the carpool lane and into Welch's path. Welch reportedly braked, but was unable to avoid striking the bumper of Clation's vehicle, and was ejected from his bike. Welch was rushed to Riverside County Regional Medical Center where he died about an hour after the crash.

Cause of the Fatal 60 Freeway Motorcycle Crash

The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. However, if news reports are correct, it appears that the driver of the sedan is likely responsible for causing this fatal accident. A charge of misdemeanor manslaughter will be sought against Clation, the Valley News reported.
