Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Pickup Truck in Corona

RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- A 54-year-old pedestrian that was struck by a pickup truck tragically died early this morning, Southwest Riverside News Network reports. The pedestrian - William Montgomery Sr., of Corona - was hit in the 900 block of West 6th Street in Corona at about 7:25 a.m. Friday. Montgomery was reported to have succumbed to his injuries about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Community Hospital. No further information about this horrible May 11th was available.

Young Girl Tragically Injured in Corona Pedestrian Accident

6th and main.pngRIVERSIDE COUNTY -- A 10-year-old girl was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident Friday morning, The Press-Enterprise reports. The collision occurred at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of 6th Street and Main Street. The girl, whose identity was not released, was walking at a crosswalk when she was struck by an oncoming eastbound vehicle. Following the accident, the girl was taken to Riverside Community Hospital and then transferred to Loma Linda University Medical Center for further treatment of her injuries.

Cause of the Pedestrian Accident in Corona

The accident remains under investigation by the Corona Police Department. However, based on the limited information provided by The Press-Enterprise, it is not known what caused the driver to hit the pedestrian. Hopefully, authorities can come to a conclusion as to what happened and why.

Four People Hurt in Interstate 15 Crash in Corona

Three people were taken to Riverside Community Hospital and one person was taken to Corona Regional Hospital Tuesday afternoon following a three-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 15, the CHP reported. The Corona Freeway I-15 crash was reported at 3:50 p.m., just south of Magnolia Avenue. At least one vehicle, a silver sport utility vehicle, overturned and two other vehicles crashed into a fence, the Valley News reported. The extent of the injuries of the four people hurt in the crash was not available.

Interstate 15 Speed Limits

Although the state has a general maximum speed limit of 65 miles per hour, California Department of Transportation and the California Highway Patrol has implemented 70 MPH speed limits in various parts of Interstate 15, including in San Diego and Riverside Counties from Deer Springs Road to 1 mile south of El Cerrito Road. It is not known how fast the vehicles involved in this April 13th crash were travelling, however the speed limit was 65 mph where the collision occurred.
