One Tragically Killed in La Habra Car Accident

idaho st - sandlewood ave.pngORANGE COUNTY -- According to the Orange County Register, a multi-vehicle accident in La Habra tragically killed one person and injured another. The accident happened at 5:39 p.m. Saturday when a blue Acura Integra and silver Porsche Cayenne collided at the intersection of Idaho Street and Sandlewood Avenue. After the collision, the driver of the Acura, Esat Ozgul, 91, of La Habra, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:52 p.m. The driver of the Porsche, a male driver whose identity was not released, was treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Cause of the La Habra Car Crash

The accident on October 29th remains under investigation by the La Habra Police Department. However, based on the information provided by the Orange County Register, it was not evident what caused the crash and who was at fault. Therefore, authorities investigating the collision will look at a variety of factors that include the speed of both vehicles, which person had the right of way, distracted driving, negligent or reckless actions, and who is ultimately responsible.

Four Killed, Two Critically Injured in La Habra Accident

LA HABRA - Three men and a woman, all in their 20's died early Sunday in an accident on South Walnut Street in La Habra, the Los Angeles Times reported. The four victims were passengers in a black Chevy Colorado double-cab pickup truck that crashed into a tree on the side of South Walnut Street near Exeter Circle. The accident was reported around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2011. The victims were identified Sunday as David Huizar Jr., Jimmy Gonzales, Paul Romero, and Delora Bravo. Romero was 25 years old; the three other victims were 22 years old. Two other occupants of the vehicle, females ages 21 and 25, were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with possibly life-threatening injuries. According to reports, the Chevy truck was likely speeding when the driver lost control and struck a tree. It was not known if alcohol played a role in the fatal crash. The cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation.

Bicyclist Killed in La Habra Crash with Foothill Transit Bus

A 49-year old La Habra woman riding her bicycle was struck and killed by a Foothill Transit bus Tuesday night, the Whittier Daily News reported. The April 20th Orange County accident occurred at 8:28 p.m. at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and La Habra Boulevard. The Orange County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim as Annette Ferrin-Rodgers. According to reports, the Foothill Transit bus was heading south on Beach Boulevard before it made a left turn onto La Habra Boulevard. Ferrin-Rodgers was in the crosswalk when she was struck by the bus, which was estimated to be going between 15 to 20 mph.

No passengers were on board the bus at the time of the crash. The driver of the bus took a drug and alcohol test, per US Department of Transportation guidelines for any collision involving injury or death. The driver is now on administrative leave while the accident is under investigation.

The Whittier Daily News reported that Annette Ferrin-Rodgers had worked with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 20 years. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family her and everyone who knew and loved her. Please keep her family in your prayers during this surely very difficult time.
