Bicyclist Struck by Car in Glendora

GLENDORA - A bicyclist was struck by a car in a Glendora intersection Tuesday morning the Glendora Patch reported. The Los Angeles County bicycle accident occurred at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Washington Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. The bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was travelling westbound through the intersection when a car made a left turn from Foothill onto Washington. The driver reportedly did not see the bicyclist, who suffered moderate injuries. The cause of the April 5th bicycle accident remains under investigation by the Glendora Police Department.

Glendora Man Struck and Killed While Crossing Street

A 79-year-old Glendora man tragically died Tuesday afternoon, about 6 hours after he was struck by a Toyota Corolla while out on a morning walk, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported yesterday. According to news reports, the victim, Theodore McElligatt, was crossing the street at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bennett Avenue and Vista Bonita Avenue when he was hit by the Toyota. He suffered severe injuries and was flown to USC Medical Center where he reportedly died of his injuries at about 1:30 p.m.
