Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Carson Hit-And-Run Accident

LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- According to Los Angeles Times, a 58-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Carson. Authorites at the scene indicated the pedestrian, Papaivai Masaga, was attempting to cross in the 22000 block of Main Street, when he was severely struck by a car Saturday night.

Following the collision, Masaga was reported to have died at about 10:10 p.m. due to his injuries. And the police are asking for anyone with information about this fatal incident to contact the sheriff's Carson station at (310)830-1123.

Based on the information provided by the Los Angeles Times, it is not evident why the driver fled the scene of the accident.
