Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Carson Hit-And-Run Accident
LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- According to Los Angeles Times, a 58-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Carson. Authorites at the scene indicated the pedestrian, Papaivai Masaga, was attempting to cross in the 22000 block of Main Street, when he was severely struck by a car Saturday night.
Following the collision, Masaga was reported to have died at about 10:10 p.m. due to his injuries. And the police are asking for anyone with information about this fatal incident to contact the sheriff's Carson station at (310)830-1123.

Based on the information provided by the Los Angeles Times, it is not evident why the driver fled the scene of the accident. According to the California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a): "The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident."
