  • State Route 111

Truck Accidents in Indio

Riverside County has one of the highest numbers of truck accidents in California. Because the Interstate 10 bisects the County, thousands of trucks crossing the State or country pass through Riverside and Indio. As the fourth longest highway in the United States, Interstate 10 is a major route for transportation. The high number of commercial trucks means a greater chance for a serious truck accident to occur. A trailer truck can outweigh a passenger vehicle by over 76,000 pounds. A collision with a large vehicle can result in catastrophic injuries for the occupants of the smaller car. Some of the most common causes of truck accidents include:

  • Fatigued driving
  • Speeding
  • Distracted driving
  • DUI/DWI
  • Unsafe lane changes and turns
  • Sudden stops.
