One Killed, Three Injured in 105 Freeway Crash near LAX

iStock_000010557770XSmall.jpgLOS ANGELES -- A 20-year-old woman driving a 1992 Toyota Camry crashed into a stopped tow truck on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway near LAX at around 11:50 p.m. Thursday night, Daily News reports. According to the CHP, the tow truck was helping an individual with a flat tire on the right shoulder of the freeway until the Camry slammed into the rear of the truck. The Camry was reported to be traveling at a "high rate of speed" before applying the brakes and losing control of the vehicle.

The impact of the collision caused passenger Guillermo Arevalo, 18, to be killed as he was ejected from the vehicle. Two other males in their early twenties suffered moderate injuries. The driver of the Camry, who sustained mild injuries, and the two surviving male passengers were transported to a hospital to undergo further treatment.

Cause of the 105 Freeway Crash near LAX

The cause of the August 4th accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. However, the Contra Costa Times reported officers were seen gathering alcohol bottles on the ground. Yet, it remains unclear if alcohol was the primary reason for this collision. Hopefully, the CHP investigation will come to a conclusion of what happen and why.
