More than 1.4 Million Packages of Birth Control Are Recalled Due to Packaging Error
On September 16, 2011, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a massive birth control recall due to a packaging error that may leave women at risk for an unplanned pregnancy. More than 1.4 million packs of affected birth control pills, manufactured by Qaulitest Pharmaceuticals, have been distributed to women over the last year and include Cyclafem 7/7/7, Emoquette and Previfem. The FDA is advising women to reference the lot number located at the bottom of the box or blister pack with the lot numbers listed here. Women taking one of the affected pills should immediately being using a non-hormonal form of birth control. Currently, the faulty packaging poses no immediate health risks. Consumers who have had an adverse reaction or quality issue with one of the affected products should contact Qualitest toll free at (877) 300-6153 or contact the FDA online.
Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Endo Pharmaceuticals, is currently investigating the source of the packaging error. Large pharmaceutical companies like Qualitest have a responsibility to provide consumers with products that work as advertised. If the manufacturer produces a defective product, the manufacturer may be liable for damages associated with the use of their product. Women who have suffered an unintended pregnancy as a result of taking a defective birth control pill may be able to recover funds for pregnancy-related damages.

Wearers of Skechers Shape-ups, AVIA Avi-Motion, FitFlop sandals, Croc Tone Shoes, MBT boots, Reebok EasyTone or any other type of toning shoe are experiencing trip and fall accidents, fall from stair accidents and fall from curb accidents. It seems the curved sole design of toning shoes is making it hard for wearers to stabilize themselves when walking and therefore, is increasing the likelihood of a fall-related injury. Studies have also shown that toning shoes can alter a person's gait, which when worn for extended periods of time, can lead to severe alignment issues.
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - A 50-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl were both tragically killed Sunday night in an SUV rollover crash in Mountain Pass on Interstate 15, the San Bernardino Sun reported. The fast lane of I-15 was closed for five hours while CHP officers conducted an investigation.

After all, who doesn't want to burn more calories, have better posture and naturally feel more energetic? According to an article last week in Consumer Reports, Americans spent more than $1 billion on toning shoes in 2010, up from about $360 million the previous year.
