ORANGE COUNTY -- A woman sustained serious injuries Thursday morning after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Santa Ana. The terrible accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on Bristol Street, just near Elder Avenue. According to the Orange County Register, the woman, described to be about 50 to 60 years old, was unconscious when she was found. She was then taken to a hospital via ambulance for further treatment. Cause of the Santa Ana Pedestrian Accident
Based on the information provided by the Orange County Register, it is not clear what caused this accident to occur. But, regardless of how it happened, there is absolutely no reason to leave the scene of an accident before the proper authorities arrive. According to the California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a): "The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident."
