LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- A Compton traffic collision left one person dead and several others injured Tuesday night, the South Gate Patch reported. The fatal accident occurred after 10 p.m. in the area of Alondra Boulevard and Harris Avenue, when a man, whose name was not released, was driving a Ford Excursion and crashed into a car that were carrying two women and four children.

Firefighters at the scene had to extricate one woman who was a rear seat passenger out of the vehicle. She was then taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwwod, where she later died due to her injuries. The other occupants in the vehicle - the other woman and four children - along with the male driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries and were transported to various hospitals.

It was reported that authorities are testing the male driver to determine whether he was driving under the influence. The names and ages of the six occupants in the car were not immediately available.

Compton Wrongful Death Liability

The information provided by South Gate Patch, did not clearly state what could have caused this tragic January 3rd accident. However, if the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department concludes that the driver was either intoxicated while operating his vehicle or acted negligently, he could be held accountable for the injuries and death of the individuals involved in the accident.

Therefore, following a serious accident such as this one, it would well-advised for the family of the deceased victim to contact an experienced Compton car accident lawyer. A knowledgeable attorney who has handled wrongful death claims can help the family protect their legal rights and obtain the compensation they entitled to for funeral and burial costs, lost wages, loss of love, care, support, and companionship, or other related damages in this horrible car accident.
