Man Struck and Injured by Two Cars in Garden Grove

West St - Garden Grove.pngORANGE COUNTY -- A 54-year-old man was tragically struck by a two vehicles in Garden Grove while he was attempting to cross the street. Garden Grove resident Gregory Martin was crossing West Street near Garden Grove Boulevard just before 7 p.m. when he was struck by a gray Dodge Magnum, and then struck and dragged about 750 feet by a white Ford Explorer.

The driver of the Dodge did not stop at the scene of the accident. According to OC Weekly, the driver of the Ford thought he hit debris on the road and figured it would be dislodged if he kept driving. However, he stopped when it did not fall off and saw the man beneath his vehicle. Martin was then taken to a local hospital with severe injuries following this horrendous accident.

Two people were airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and two were taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

At about 12:14 p.m. Thursday, 21-year-old Andrew Dufresne was driving a 2004 Saab sedan westbound on Twentynine Palms Highway when he veered onto the eastbound lane and struck a 1979 Chevrolet Caprice driven by Louis A. Castellucci, 67, of Yucca Valley.

Following the accident, Castellucci was reported to have died at the scene and Dufresne was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center. Dufresne's two passengers, whose names were not released, were taken to Desert Regional via Morongo Basin Ambulance. The extent of Defresne's and his passengers' injuries or their condition was not immediately available.

According to Valley News, the tan sedan fled the scene and continued east on the 91 Freeway and then exited at Adams Street. After the collision, Tatro was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where he later died at about 4:20 a.m. due to his injuries.

Two Injured after being Struck by Car in Victorville

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY -- A 17-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy were severely struck by an oncoming vehicle at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, Victorville Daily Press reported. The teenage girl and the young child were hit by a car while they were attempting to cross 7th Street and Desert Knolls Drive in Victorville.

According to spokeswoman Karen Hunt of the Victorville station's Major Accident Investigation Team, the teenager and child were struck by a 62-year-old Moreno Valley man who did not see the girl pushing the boy in a stroller in the crosswalk when he made a left turn from Desert Knolls Drive onto 7th Street.

Following this tragic accident, the pedestrians were airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center. The teen suffered cuts and scrapes, while the boy sustained a fractured skull. They are currently in stable condition, and their relationship between the two has not been determined.

After the accident, Mendez and two others were taken to Ventura County Medical Center for further treatment. However, Mendez, who suffered serious internal injuries, tragically died during surgery.

One Killed, One Injured in Van Nuys Hit-And-Run Accident

LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- According to the Los Angeles Times, a woman was killed and her sister critically injured after they were struck by a car in blank. The horrific accident happened at about 9:25 p.m. Sunday on Erwin Street just west of Vesper. It was reported that the driver of a 1995 Lexus ES300, Alfonso Garnica-Mozgueda, 33, was traveling at an excessive speed of 50 to 75 mph on a 25 mph street, lost control, and struck 39-year-old Christina Lynn Ruvalcaba, along with the truck she was standing next to. Ruvalcaba's sister, Blanca Ruvalcaba, 34, was inside the truck and thrown several feet, landing on the sidewalk.

Following this accident, Garnica-Mozgueda fled the scene on foot and was later arrested at his home. Christina Lynn Ruvalcaba suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital where she later died. Blanca Ruvalcaba sustained moderate injuries and was hospitalized. Blanca's 7-week-old daughter was also inside the truck, but was not hurt after the crash.

After the collision, Nava was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana where he later died at 7:22 p.m. due to his major injuries.
