RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- Two Riverside teenagers were tragically killed Monday night in a solo-vehicle accident, The Press-Enterprise reports. The driver, Marcelo Rios, 19, was traveling at high speed along Jurupa Avenue east of Essex Street when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle. Then, as Rios was unable to maintain control of the car, the vehicle overturned and struck a metal utility pole.
After the crash, Rios was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he later died due to his injuries. His 17-year-old passenger, whose name was not released, was reported to have died at the scene.
