Woman Severely Struck by Car on Interstate 10 in Palm Springs

I-10 near Indian Canyon Drive.pngRIVERSIDE COUNTY -- A woman was severely hit by a car on Interstate 10 in Palm Springs, The Desert Sun reports. The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was running across the I-10 near Indian Canyon Drive at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, when a black Volkswagen Jetta struck her and then fled the scene. Following this devastating collision, the woman was taken to a hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, CHP officers are currently searching for the driver of the Volkswagen that has a partial license of 7H6X.

The accident on October 12th remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. However, based on the information provided by The Desert Sun, it is not clear why the driver of the Volkswagen Jetta struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene of the accident.
