SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY -- According to The Press-Enterprise, a San Clemente man tragically died Sunday after he struck a rock while riding an off-road motorcycle. The accident was reported at about 9:35 a.m., when motorcyclist Bill Larson, 53, was riding his off-road bike in Pipes Canyon Wash near Yucca Valley and for unknown reasons he lost control and struck a rock. According to the California Highway Patrol, Larson died less than an hour later following the crash.

Based on the limited information provided by news reports, it is unclear what could have caused the motorcyclist to lose control of his bike.
