Two Men Killed in Arcadia Intersection Crash

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - Two people very tragically died Thursday in a horrific intersection collision involving a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle in Arcadia, the Pasadena Star-News reported. The double-fatal accident took place shortly after 12:00 p.m. on September 1, 2011, at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Palm Drive, the Los Angeles County Coroner reported.

According to news reports, the motorcycle, operated by Jonathan Paul Nyerges. 29, of Temple City, was travelling northbound on Baldwin Avenue. At the same time, Richard Oster, 75, of Arcadia, was driving the SUV westbound on Palm Drive. The two vehicles collided at the intersection, and the impact caused the SUV to overturn. Nyerges died at the scene of the crash. Oster was taken by ambulance to Huntington Hospital, where he died a short time after arrival. The cause of this fatal intersection accident remains under investigation. Any witnesses are asked to contact Arcadia police at 626-574-5156.
