TEMECULA - The CHP will offer free teenage driving safety classes at 6 p.m. tomorrow (September 22nd ) and next Thursday (September 29th) at the Temecula CHP office located at 27685 Commerce Center Drive. The classes will cover the common causes of car accidents and what drivers can do to avoid them. Officers who have investigated fatal collisions involving teenagers will share their testimonies with newly licensed drivers and their parents. The latest "Red Asphalt" video will also be shown. The classes are free, but space is limited. Reservations can be made by calling the Temecula CHP office at (951)506-2000.
The Temecula personal injury attorneys at Estey Bomberger believe this driver safety class offered by the CHP is an excellent opportunity for parents and grandparents to educate teenagers about car accidents and what they need to do to prevent them. According to the Department of Motor Vehicles, for both men and women, drivers aged 16 to 19 years of age have the highest average annual crash and traffic violation rates of any other age group. Accidents - which may result in serious injury or death - occur for many reasons, including inexperience / lack of skill, low risk perception, distractions, and limited ability to detect hazards.
