Four Injured in Three-Car Collision on Ramona Expressway
RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- In San Jacinto, four people were injured in a three-car accident on the Ramona Expressway Monday morning, the Banning-Beaumont Patch reports. Mica Solomon, 35, of Cabazon, was driving a 1993 Honda Accord and traveling east on the freeway when for unknown reasons she lost control of her vehicle, striking a bridge railing, and finally crossing the double yellow lines onto westbound traffic. Two other vehicles were also involved in this accident. A 1997 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Pricilla McGee, 56, of Moreno Valley and a 2011 Ford Fiesta driven by Christian Franco, 34, of Riverside. Both McGee and Franco were going east on the freeway when they were struck by Solomon's vehicle. According to the CHP, Solomon and McGee's passenger, Katie Dunford, 63, of Moreno Valley, suffered from major injuries. While McGee and Franco sustained moderate injuries. All individuals involved in the collision were transported to Riverside County Medical Center in Moreno Valley for further treatment.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- A 57-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday in Inglewood on suspicion of a hit-and-run accident that injured a pregnant pedestrian and possibly causing the death of her fetus, Los Angeles Times reports. Brittney Cheeseman, 18, was walking at the intersection of Manchester Boulevard and Market Street at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when she was severely struck by a car. Witnesses at the scene reported to police that the driver failed to stop at a red light before fleeing the scene of the accident. Witnesses also provided a license plate number to police to track down the driver. Following the accident Cheeseman was taken to a hospital with non-threatening injuries and reports from doctors say the 5- or 6-month-old fetus was unresponsive and showed no signs of life.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- A female pedestrian was seriously injured when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Lancer at Prielipp Road and Elizabeth Lane, SWRNN reports. The collision was reported in the city of Wildomar just after 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday. The driver, who is believed to be female, did not sustain any injuries in the accident. It also undetermined how many passengers were in the vehicle. According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson, the pedestrian, whose name and age have not been released, was taken to a local hospital and is critical condition.

ORANGE COUNTY -- An off-duty San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department detective was killed in a bicycle accident on an Irvine roadway, OC Register reports. Irvine resident Det. Duane Parkison, 42, was cycling northbound on Shady Canyon just south of Quail Hill Road at about 1 p.m. Wednesday when he was struck by a Mercedes-Benz SUV. Irvine Police reported two other bicyclists were seen administering CPR to Parkison before he was transported to a local hospital and later died due to his injuries. The driver of the SUV, a 35-year-old woman and her infant child were uninjured in this tragic accident.
BUENA PARK - Three people were tragically killed and two others hospitalized with serious injuries Monday night after the Ford Excursion SUV they were riding in overturned on Interstate 5, the Los Angeles Times reported. According to news reports, the SUV, carrying a family returning from a church service at the Crystal Cathedral, overturned when the driver lost control while exiting the Beach Boulevard offramp. Four passengers were ejected from the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames. The driver, a 41-year-old Downey woman, and a 16-year-old girl, were taken to UCI Medical Center. Three women, ages, 24, 30, and 49, died at the scene of the crash. None of the parties identities were immediately available.
ORANGE COUNTY -- The Orange County Register reported Anaheim witnesses seeing a female driver traveling west on Ball Road "at a high rate of speed" when suddenly she crossed the center divider into oncoming traffic. The result led to her Lincoln automobile slamming head-on with a Mazda before overturning. The man driving the Mazda was airlifted to Western Medical Center with significant injuries. His wife suffered a broken arm and their two children received mild injuries. Anaheim Police Sgt. Bob Dunn reported the driver of the Lincoln, whose name is yet to be released, died at the scene of the accident.
LOS ANGELES -- A 20-year-old woman driving a 1992 Toyota Camry crashed into a stopped tow truck on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway near LAX at around 11:50 p.m. Thursday night, Daily News reports. According to the CHP, the tow truck was helping an individual with a flat tire on the right shoulder of the freeway until the Camry slammed into the rear of the truck. The Camry was reported to be traveling at a "high rate of speed" before applying the brakes and losing control of the vehicle.
VENTURA COUNTY - A 51-year-old Oxnard man was tragically killed early Thursday morning on Pleasant Valley Road at Evergeen Lane, the Ventura County Star reported. The accident was reported at 1:30 a.m., when the driver, Luis Lopez-Ordaz, 28, veered off the road at a high rate of speed and struck a large tree at the intersection. The front seat-passenger in the vehicle, Benjamin Martinez, 51, of Oxnard, was killed in the crash. Lopez-Ordaz suffered major injuries, along with a rear passenger, 45-year-old Francisco Patricio of Oxnard.
PERRIS VALLEY - The Southwest Riverside News Network reported three people were hurt early Friday morning in a pickup truck rollover accident. According to a Riverside County Sheriff's news release, the single-vehicle accident occurred at 2:24 a.m. on Holland Road near Annas Lane. The truck was reportedly travelling at a high rate of speed when the 21-year-old Nuevo woman driving the vehicle lost control. The truck overturned and the driver, along with a 30-year-old Nuevo man and a24-year-old Canyon Lake woman, were injured. All three were taken to Inland Regional Medical Center for treatment. The cause of the Lake Elsinore car accident remains under investigation.
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - The Desert Dispatch reported a 22-year-old Las Vegas man tragically died Sunday morning following a solo-vehicle car accident near Essex, CA According to reports by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department, the crash was reported at 6:57 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-40, about ½ mile west of mile marker 95, and involved a 2005 Chevy Cobalt. The 22-year-old driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
