Types of Skechers Shape-ups Injuries

skechers4.jpgWearers of Skechers Shape-ups, AVIA Avi-Motion, FitFlop sandals, Croc Tone Shoes, MBT boots, Reebok EasyTone or any other type of toning shoe are experiencing trip and fall accidents, fall from stair accidents and fall from curb accidents. It seems the curved sole design of toning shoes is making it hard for wearers to stabilize themselves when walking and therefore, is increasing the likelihood of a fall-related injury. Studies have also shown that toning shoes can alter a person's gait, which when worn for extended periods of time, can lead to severe alignment issues.

Broken Bone Injuries

One of the most common types of injuries associated with toning shoes is a broken bone injury. Broken bone injuries typically result when too much force is applied to a bone but can also occur when a bone is exposed to low amounts of force over a long period of time (stress fractures). Depending on the severity and location of the injury, broken bones may require surgical immobilization. Surgeons may use pins, plates, screws, nails and rods to hold together and immobilize the broken bone. Plaster casts, tape, slings and orthopedic casts may also be used to immobilize a broken bone.

Chronic Tendonitis

Chronic tendonitis, which is recurring inflammation of a tendon, is common in the upper and lower limbs, but can affect any tendon of the body. The symptoms of chronic tendonitis vary, but typically include constant pain, stiffness, burning sensation, swelling, redness and muscle "knots." Chronic tendonitis is generally treated with the use of anti-inflammatory drugs and physical therapy. Compression, braces and laser therapy have also been used in the treatment of chronic tendonitis.

Additional Types of Skechers Shape-Ups Injuries

Additional types of Skechers Shape-ups toning shoe injuries include head injuries, neck injuries, bruises, lacerations, back injuries, muscle sprains, ligament tears and spinal cord injuries.

If you have been seriously injured while wearing a toning shoe, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit. In a personal injury lawsuit, you may be able to collect monetary compensation for injury-related expenses, such as medical bills, therapy bills, disability, lost earnings due to missed time at work, impaired earning capacity, and pain and suffering.
