Water District Worker Struck and Killed by Truck

June 29, 2011

RIVERSIDE COUNTY - The Press-Enterprise is reporting a truck tragically struck and killed a 24-year-old Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District worker June 28th. According to coroner officials, the worker was hit by a truck as he was applying street markings along Valle Avenue at approximately 2:44 p.m. The Water District worker died at the scene of the collision. The driver of the truck was hospitalized for an unrelated condition.

Cause of the Pedestrian Accident

Due to the limited amount of information provided by city officials, the cause of the crash has not been determined. If news reports are accurate, the driver of the truck may be responsible for the death of the worker. Many pedestrians are fatally injured every year in the U.S. because motor vehicle drivers are not paying attention to the road, speeding or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Pedestrian Accident Liability

Following an accident such as this one, it is highly recommended the victim's family consult a Los Angeles pedestrian accident attorney. An attorney who has experience litigating fatal pedestrian accidents will ensure justice is served on behalf of the victim. An experienced attorney can also help families recover monetary compensation from the at-fault party for losses associated with the death of their loved one.
