WOODLAND HILLS - A 50-year-old woman tragically died Thursday morning, about 10 hours after she was struck by a car in a Woodland Hills Crosswalk, the Contra Costa Times reported. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Platt Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. The victim, Adriana Bucklew, was crossing the street when she was struck by a 2002 Cadillac Escalade driven by Anais Garcia, 21, of West Hills. Garcia had been heading on eastbound on Victory Boulevard when she made a left turn onto Platt Avenue. Bucklew was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, where she died around 7 a.m.
Cause of the May 18th Pedestrian Accident
Based on the news reports, it is unclear why Garcia did not see Bucklew in the crosswalk.
