An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured Friday morning when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle, the Press-Enterprise reported. The accident occurred in the 700 block of Fairview Parkway, at about 10:40 a.m., according to Hemet Police. The boy was reportedly riding his bike when he was struck by the car and thrown onto the hood, before he became lodged underneath the vehicle and was dragged about 25 feet. Witnesses and a Hemet city work crew lifted the vehicle and got the boy out from under the car.

The Hemet Police department is investigating the incident. Based on the news reports, it is not clear how this accident occurred, and whether the driver of the car was at fault.
